For this piece, I wanted to show how I see myself. It took a long time and a lot of self-reflection to build up the confidence to share who I am-bold, bright, and unapologetically me. The colors in this piece represent my energy field (aura). The light pink is especially important to me. It’s the color, I believe, that truly captures my core essence. I’ve added touches of this light pink to a three other artworks in this exhibition (Divine Love, Love, Kelly Joy and Celestial Infusion) as a subtle nod to my personal energy connecting with others, as well as, the universe.


It was also important that this Self Portrait looks directly at the piece Divine Love and that they shared the share the same color palette. The connection between the two works represents the idea that I am a reflection of the divine, and the divine is a reflection of me.
