I personally gathered each stick from my backyard, nature trails, and parks while walking with my dog, Miso. They represent the many branches of my personal “tree of life.”
I tied a handwritten love note to each stick with pink thread (a color that symbolizes my personal energy). Every note is written to a person or animal who has impacted my life, from childhood to the present.


I am who I am because of the support, friendship, and love I’ve received from each of them. While many of those I wrote to may never meet one another, they are all connected through the love shared with me. That love is what unites these branches and is why my tree has grown so strong.
